Music Workshops for Schools

Music Workshops for Schools

Skatz has been enthusiastically and colourfully educating in his own intuitive, child-led, calm and understanding way for over 6 years.

Most recently he has been specialising in individual and group sessions with Special Needs children, especially PMLD and Autistic students.

Creative WorkshopsCreative WorkshopsIn his Music Workshops for Schools he uses music, poetry, comedy, storytelling and drama to encourage a creative and imaginative approach to any curriculum subject and has been booked extensively into schools across Leicestershire, Coventry, Solihull and Warwickshire, working with teachers and children from Foundation stage all the way through to Secondary school age.

Skatz' speciality in his Music Workshops for Schools is to write unique and memorable Acoustic Music songs with Primary School children. These can be on any subject and help with writing skills and encourage enthusiasm for group working, focus and memory.

Skatz can be booked directly for Music Workshops in Schools via this site's home page. He has a current CRB full Enhanced Disclosure and £10m of Public Liaibility Insurance.

Creative Partnerships Music Workshops

For several years Skatz took part in the Creative Partnerships programme which linked schools with creative practitioners who run Music Workshops (like Skatz!) The projects aimed to help teachers and pupils to look at subjects in a more free, cross-curricular way and open their imaginations to what can be achieved through play and exploring ideas.

Although funding has become a major issue recently for Creative Partnerships, Skatz is continuing his Music Workshops in Schools in order to further the imaginative working methods he has found successful.

Festival Music Workshops

The Farewell Ceremonysessions involve making up Acoustic Music songs on the spot about what the kids are doing and saying, singing requests & nursery rhymes and generally fooling about in a creative way reacting to what's happening at the event.
